Exploring the Application of Inventive Principles of TRIZ in Research Organizations: A Case Study

Abstract:
Systematic innovation (TRIZ) is a creative problem-solving technique that has been first introduced by Genrich Altshuller. TRIZ has been developed to aid inventors to accelerate innovations. Forty inventive principles have been summarized by analyzing thousands of patents by Altshuller.
The Main goal of this research is to evaluate the rate of application of "forty inventive principles" by inventors in RCISP. For this purpose, based on the forty inventive principles a questionnaire was generated based on the literature review. The research method was a descriptive-survey type and sample was chosen through statistical Formula. The collected data was analyzed through descriptive statistics and survey statistics by Using SPSS software. The results showed that about 71% of the researchers have employed TRIZ above the average. These studied researchers used TRIZ principles unintentionally. This result confirms the efficacy of the inventive principles of TRIZ in innovative works. Also a Randsyp questionnaire was used for evaluating efficacy of TRIZ workshop in two times: after and before workshop. The Results of this segment showed the efficacy of TRIZ training on developing Researchers’ creativity capabilities. At the end of this research, we have presented some suggestions for accelerating innovation in RCISP and similar institutes based on our surveys.
